About

Based in North Shelby County, Alabama, Hearts In Hands was formed from a persistent, growing desire to obey the Commission of Christ – to go. Go to the greatest need–the sick, the dying, the lonely, the needy, the lost.

In 2008 a family friend, who worked for a local hospice company, told us about a patient of hers who desperately needed yard and house work done. She had no family in the area, and she was far too frail to do very much on her own. Furthermore, this widow was not the only one of her patients in similar circumstances. There were many more – all with some difficulty or hardship that needed to be handled for them.

We strongly felt this was the purpose God had been preparing us for. But we didn’t just want to solve their immediate need, only to leave them again in isolation and loneliness. We believed it was essential to establish a system of follow-up to build relationships.

Through a growing group of compassionate volunteers who are unified in our desire to share, show, teach and serve, we are able to make a difference in the lives of some wonderful people who now know they are loved.

Open your heart and hands to God and His people (Matthew 25:40), and help us maintain this ministry.

We need your support:

  • Prayers for this mission
  • Material needs
  • Spiritual needs
  • Administrative needs

Monetary donations for:

  • Supplies and materials needed to clean, build and repair
  • Hardship assistance for those in a crisis

It is our hope that this ministry will continue to grow and reach out. The need is so great, but so is God’s provision!

Love extravagantly,
Frank and Donna Burder
